Treefest 2006

The City of Coquitlam in partnership with the Riverview Horticultural Centre Society , Burke Mountain Naturalists and ArtsConnect invites you to celebrate the 13th annual Treefest on Sunday, September 17th. Treefest will be held from 12:00 – 5:00 pm at the Riverview Hospital Grounds located at 2601 Lougheed Highway in Coquitlam.

Treefest is an opportunity to celebrate trees and environmental stewardship with an emphasis on the fine collection of trees on the Riverview lands. This free family festival features guided tree tours, nature walks, live entertainment, blackberry tea and sweets served in Finnie’s Garden, a heritage building tour, food concession and community group displays.

This event will appeal to all ages with family entertainment provided by musicians including Chris Hamilton and Tony Prophet and activities for children including crafts and a child’s tree tour. Gardeners and homeowners will enjoy speaking to Master Gardeners about their gardening questions and challenges and plants and trees will be available to purchase at a sale offered by the Riverview Horticultural Centre Society. Other highlights will include an art exhibition and sale and guest speaker, John Vaillant, the award winning author of The Golden Spruce.
