In the Footsteps of John Davidson
On Nov. 18, 2004, the Vancouver Natural History Society will host a presentation by Daniel Mosquin, Bioinformatics and Web Manager at the UBC Botanical Garden, titled “In the Footsteps of John Davidson: the Flora of Garibaldi Provincial Park”. The program will be held at the Vancouver Museum, 1100 Chestnut Street, at 7:30 PM.
John Davidson, founder of the Society and the first director of the University of British Columbia Botanical Garden, was part of the first expedition by Europeans to visit the Mount Garibaldi area. This program features photographs from the present-day flora of the Garibaldi area along with details about the Davidson expeditions. The presentation will include a number of historic images of particular interest to the Society, as the Garibaldi expeditions were some of the Society’s “first field trips”.
