New faces

There are some new faces for the new year at UBC Botanical Garden and Centre for Plant Research.

On the research front, Dr. Sean Graham has arrived from the University of Alberta and is setting up his laboratory in the UBC Centre for Plant Research. Dr. Graham's research includes investigation into the evolution of early land plants and the evolutionary origin of unique plant innovations.

The Botanical Garden and Centre for Plant Research also welcomes a new staff member in Laura Groos. After a stint as Director of Development for Opera Ontario, Laura joins the BGCPR as our first Development Officer in this newly created position.
