From Apomixis to Mixing Paints
Upcoming courses and lectures for the week of Oct 19 to Oct 26:
On Monday, October 20, Dr. Jeannette Whitton of the UBC Department of Botany will be giving a free seminar in the UBC Botanical Garden Reception Centre entitled "Too much and not enough: the consequences of hybridization and asexual reproduction in Crepis and Townsendia". The seminar begins at noon.
Judy Newton, the UBC Botanical Garden Education Coordinator, teaches Perennials for Autumn Colour on Thursday, October 23. Pre-registration is requested and the cost is $5.
Botanical Art is the focus of a two-day weekend course on October 25 & 26 with Alison Watt. Watercolour techniques and the effective use of colour are two of the main topics that Alison will share.
