Botanical Art of Ferdinand Bauer


Dr. David Mabberley, internationally-renowned botanist and botanical historian, is lecturing on the Botanical Art of Ferdinand Bauer - "The Leonardo of Natural History Illustration" on September 24 at 7:30. Tickets are $10 and are available at the Shop in the Garden and Southlands Nursery.

In the words of Dr. Quentin Cronk, Dr. Mabberley is "the world's foremost authority on the greatest botanical artist who has ever lived." Dr. Mabberley is a distinguished lecturer and author of over 13 books, including "The Plant-Book - A Portable Dictionary of Vascular Plants."

The lecture is to be held in Woodward Lecture Theatre 2 in the IRC Building on the UBC campus. For more details, please see the courses and lectures page.
